A Milanese industrialist, pragmatic father of a family, more or less center-left politically, has a strange dream: through child's eyes, he pursues a boy who is bigger than him. He can't see his face. The boy calls him "Father". He wakes in a sweat and tries to interpret what it means. Was the uncatchable boy his son? Then he is struck by a violent illness. A real, or imagined coronary? Prophecy or enigma ?
The white-out persists in a city for 4 weeks : snow, wind and fog reduce or negate visibility. The horizon disappears. Disorientation and sensory confusion ensue. "She" walks through the town, searching for a man named Klaus. Has he dissolved in the white-out? "She" knocks on a door. A man opens it. "She" says she has fallen victim to her passion. "He" says he is a carpenter.
