A Milanese industrialist, pragmatic father of a family, more or less center-left politically, has a strange dream: through child's eyes, he pursues a boy who is bigger than him. He can't see his face. The boy calls him "Father". He wakes in a sweat and tries to interpret what it means. Was the uncatchable boy his son? Then he is struck by a violent illness.
